Team Embrace participates in three 2010 events. In the Columbia Triathlon on May 23, Team Embrace members participated in both the Olympic Distance Triathlon and in a Team Relay. Both the Celebration Sprint Triathlon on June 27 and the Aflac Iron Girl Triathlon on August 22, participants swim .62 mile, bike 17.5 miles, and run 3.4 miles.

The Arc of Howard County announces search for Director of Resource Development
The Arc of Howard County announces an opening for a Full-time Director of Resource Development. Responsibilities include coordination all fundraising activities, which includes events, grant writing, building donor base for endowment fund, developing and implementing planned giving campaign and assisting with public relations and media work. This person supervises department with one FT Assistant and participates on the agency Senior Management Team. For a complete job description and contact information click here. Celebration of Excellence
At The Arc’s annual Celebration of Excellence, board member and the force behind Team Embrace, Peter Della-Croce, was honored with the President’s Award. Other winners included Self-Advocate of the Year Charlie Settle and Employee of the Year Geraldine Gemayel. The Howard County Library was presented the Excellence in Community award, and two businesses, B/A Products Company and Lead Off Management Company, won Excellence in Employment awards. Rita Mayhew was cited for Excellence in Services.
