Events: The Greenfield Compassionate Leader Award

Tribute To Bernie and Connie Dancel

Bernie and Connie Dancel were presented the 2011 Jim Greenfield Award for Compassionate Leadership by The Arc of Howard County at a Hawaiian-themed dinner in the couple’s honor. The award is named for Columbia Builders founder and long time supporter of The Arc Jim Greenfield. This year’s event raised over $100,000 for The Arc. Presenting sponsorwas Gordon, Feinblatt, Rothman, Hoffberger & Hollander, LLC. The Dancels are noted for their personal philanthropy as well as for the corporate generosity and community service of Ascend One Corp., the Howard County-based business that Bernie and Connie Dancel founded. It was a great evening – wonderful food, terrific music and dancing, and heartfelt testimony by family and friends of a generous couple.

This annual award is presented to the person or couple who exhibits selfless philanthropy, dedication and commitment to the community and The Arc of Howard County . Named after long time friend of The Arc Jim Greenfield, the award exemplifies his compassion for those living with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
